To all that need just a wee bit more time….

High school workshops are concluding with the classes. Remaining, are classes 814 which received 1 of 2 workshops, and 802 and 817 needing both workshops.
High School Night has passed and so have five daytime workshops offered to parents to discuss the high school application process. Only 25% of our eighth grade families have attended. It is understandable if parents were unable to make these workshops. The Guidance Department is presenting two in-class workshops to every grade class with the objective for students to understand the high school application process and offer strategies, articulate information to their parents as well as discuss materials and information they’re given. Currently, the following classes have received workshops:
801, 803, 804, 807, 808, 809, 811, 812, 813, 816 have received Workshops I & II
Classes 806, 810 and 818 have received workshop I. The remaining classes will be scheduled within the next few school days.
Parents seeking to make appointments with Mrs. Kouzounas, Guidance Counselor, will be able to once all 8th grade classes are given both workshops. In the meantime, parents and students should discuss and review the introduction section in your high school directory which is basically the information presented in the guidance workshops. AND…..ATTEND OPEN HOUSES!!! Please start compiling a list of high school programs of interest. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
PS. High school applications are due to me by December 1st! Please note that an application submitted to me earlier than that deadline will not present a better chance of being accepted. Applications will be accepted by Mrs. Kouzounas during student’s Guidance Period. Please do NOT submit to teachers.
